FIFA World Cup 2014 Groups and Standings / Points Tablefxbanner.png

FIFA World Cup 2014 has begun and a month of adrenaline pumping action lies ahead as the best teams from around the globe take the field to fight it out for the gorgeous World Cup trophy. Brazil is one of the all time favourites and now they host the 20th edition of the FIFA World Cup which, no need to reiterate, is going to be explosive.

There are 64 matches, 32 teams, 12 venues, 8 Groups and 1 World Cup trophy which every footballer dreams of holding in his hands and lift to show the world that they are world champions.

Brazil hosts the FIFA World Cup for the second time in FIFA World Cup history after they hosted FIFA World Cup in 1950. Spain is the defending team and they will look to honour the trophy and reclaiming it but only if they can ward off the other 31 teams that have been hungry to get their hands on it for 4 very long years.

Spain is part of the exotic FIFA World Cup winners club along with Brazil, Germany, Uruguay, France, Argentina and England, who have all qualified for this edition of the World Cup.

There are 4 teams in all 8 groups with the tournament starting off with the hosts, Brazil, taking on Croatia. Every team plays three matches in the league stages of the tournament against the group members that they are a part of with every win giving them 3 points, a draw giving each team 1 point and a loss gives them 0 points.

The top 2 teams from each of the 8 groups will qualify for the Round of 16 going on to the quarter finals, semi finals and the best two teams going on to the final match.
